I have about five installations of Firefox on different machines. I have been notfied of the latest update, Firefox 1.0.2, on all of the installations over the last week. I think that this is a little odd, surely checks for updates are made more regularly than this? Perhaps Mozilla purposely stagger the update of clients so as not to overload their servers - could this be a sign of their browser’s success causing them problems?
I have also just updated the Web Developer Toolbar extension for Firefox to version 0.9.3 after reading an article over at Sitepoint. The developer comments on Mozilla’s slow response time to processing new updates for extensions. I would have to agree seeing as the in-browser extension engine reports no updates available for this extension even though I was running version 0.8!

Well it that’s time of the year already, and we’re looking forward to a few days break. Becca and I are off to my parents’ for the weekend. We shall be catching up with some friends, sorting a few problems out with my car and then doing a car boot on Sunday morning!
After having another break last weekend, when we went to Becca’sparents’ and enjoyed a brilliant day/evening in Gateshead/Newcastle,hopefully we should be reasonably recharged!
April is looking to be a busy month already with car things to sort out (insurance, tax and MOT) and house hunting to do. We need to be prepared for it.
On the house front, we have decided to start looking for places to rent as opposed to buying. We think that this is the easiest way to find somewhere as we weren’t having much luck finding decent houses in our price range for sale. Life is a bit too stressful with everything else! We may try and go for a normal rent agreement as opposed to a student agreement so that we can stay in the house after our studies finish next year.

Well my blog has been targetted by the current comment spamming trend. It’s happended a few times now, it’s starting to get a little annoying!
A system similar to that used by Wordpress at Chris Boot’s Blog would be handy. A new version of Plog is out soon which will hopefully have better features for dealing with this pain in the ass. Rest assured I will be upgrading as soon as it is available!
EDIT: pLog 1.0 is due out on 1st April, I will trial it and then upgrade the software here if I like it.

I have just upgraded my main system to an Athlon 64 3000 running on an Abit AN8. I have always been a fan of Abit’s boards with all of my current systems featuring them. This board has really impressed me being alot more polished than my previous AN7. The graphics card also had to be upgraded to a 128MB MSI NX6600 PCI-Express.
All I have to do now is decide what to do with the parts I have left. I will either sell them or replace the parts in my server. Decisions, decisions!
