General March 30th, 2006It’s been a busy few weeks months and with only eight weeks left until I officially finish my final exams a small glimmer of light has appeared at the end of the tunnel.
Assignments have really taken over, particularly for the Advanced Databases module I am studying for. This involved designing and implementing an object relational database for a pharmaceutical system as the first component and then implementing a front end for the second. The first component didn’t go too well, resulting in an implementation on the right track but needed more time to complete it and make it function. This was the first assignment which I hadn’t taken an extension for and in the end I hadn’t allowed myself enough time to complete it. The front end has gone better up to a point, but it relies on the first component heavily and so I can’t go much further with it. I have got a few of the checkpoints ticked for the marking scheme so fingers crossed it won’t be too dreadful. My next tasks include another assignment and completing my final year project investigating the application of agile software methodologies to web development.
Asside from the dreaded assignments, we have been busy organising the wedding which is now less than four months away! The invites, cake, my suit, Becca’s dress and the handful of hotel rooms we had are now sorted with bridesmaids dresses being worked on this weekend. Becca’s parents and family have been a brilliant help in getting these things organised.
All in all, it’s been busy and it will stay busy for a while yet!
